Event Design: Hot Air Balloon Themed First Birthday & Baptism | St. Andrew Armenian Church, Cupertino

I'm so excited to announce that On To Baby has featured Leah's first birthday & Baptism on their blog! On To Baby features all things baby such as lovely baby showers, inspiring nursery designs, unforgettable kids birthday parties, and more. See the blog post here. On to the details...

Up, up, and away! This hot air balloon themed first birthday was filled with all things pink and glitter. Bella hired me to help design her daughter’s first birthday party and baptism. She wanted a theme that was unique, chic, and playful. The hot air balloon theme seemed perfect for this occasion. The event took place in the St. Andrew Armenian Church hall. We brought rentals and lighting to warm up the place and make it feel more elegant. I don't think the church hall had ever looked so good! Bella, thank you for hiring me to do the event design for your daughter's party. I had an amazing time making all the details and seeing it all come together. Leah is so precious and I wish your family many more blessings.

Place Card Table
As guest arrived they were greeted by an “Up, up, and away!” sign and hot air balloons floating up above the place card table. I wanted the guests to feel like they were about to go on a hot air balloon ride. I found this amazing gold sequins linen that was perfect in setting the tone for the rest of the décor.

Dining Tables
The dining tables were covered with a soft pink linen and paired with gold chivari chairs to make it feel extra elegant. I hand made the napkin rings with pink tulle to look like a tutu around the napkin. For the centerpieces, I hand glittered craft boxes and added a pink tutu around it. I filled the box with white hydrangeas and pink garden roses and had a floating balloon up top to resemble a hot air balloon.

Kid’s Station
I created a kids station where they could pick up a goodie box and lemonade.  The goodie boxes were gold glitter and pink with a balloon attached. They were filled with little toys and games for the kids to stay entertained. I also made fun sippy cups for the kids to use to enjoy their lemonade.

Photo Booth
I made a life sized hot air balloon for the kids to take photos in. I bought a laundry basket, spray painted it gold, and attached a pink and gold tassel banner to the front. I created a cluster of pink balloons up above. It made for some adorable photos.

Birthday Girl High Chair & Party Hat

I wanted to make the birthday girl’s high chair extra special so that she stood out amongst all the kids. I created a pink tutu around the chair and hung a banner that said “ONE”. I also made her a matching first birthday hat out of the glitter paper and pink tulle, which she looked absolutely adorable in.

Dessert Table

The dessert table was the highlight of the party. The pink tulle backdrop and the gold sequins linen was the perfect combination. I hung hot air balloons that spelled out the birthday girls name floating above the table. All the desserts incorporated the hot air balloon theme. Guests were wowed by all the details of the dessert table.

Pink & Silver Pebble Embossed Bat Mitzvah Invitations

Hayley had contacted me after seeing the invitations that I had done for Anna and Hovsep's wedding. She fell in love with the design and wanted the same exact invitation but in pink and silver for her daughter's Bat Mitzvah. I was very pleased with how these turned out and loved the color combo. Congratulations Kyra on your Bat Mitzvah!

Lavender Baptism Invitations

I had the pleasure of making Baptism invitations for the adorable Deceil. Instead of going with the traditional pink we decided on lavender and silver as the colors. I fell in love with this tulle that I saw at the fabric store and knew I wanted to incorporate it in the invitation. It was a lavender color with silver glitter dots. I wrapped it across the top of the invitations and then secured a swarovski cross in the center.

I also made the favors for the Baptism. I ordered these lavender boxes that matched the card stock of the invitation. I wanted to create a favor that we could hang off the chairs. I added a tulle strap at the top and a rhinestone detail to make them look like mini purses.

I was also hired to do the event design for this Baptism. Stay tuned for a future post on all the decor!

Event Design: Paint & Polka Dot Birthday Party

I'm so excited to announce that the Paint & Polka Dot themed birthday that I designed for little Nicole was featured on Hostess with the Mostess! Hostess with the Mostess is a popular blog where entertaining and party ideas are shared, inspired, and discovered. I highly recommend it for those of you who are looking for party inspiration. Check out the feature here

After doing Nicole's Bumble Bee Themed Birthday last year, her mom Christine was excited to have me help out again this year. She wanted something that was going to be a little more interactive for the kids since they are now a bit older. Nicole loves to draw and paint, so we thought why not have a paint themed party! The party was taking place in Christine's backyard so I knew I wanted bright and bold colors such as fuchsia, aqua and lime green that would really pop on a summer afternoon. The polka dot pattern was a perfect accompaniment to the bright colors and theme of the party. See below for all of the fun details!

Dining Tables
The dining tables were covered in a fuchsia linen with a polka dot runner going down the middle. For the centerpieces I purchased empty paint cans from a home improvement store and filled them with bright colored flowers that matched the theme of the party. I used green floral foam at the bottom of the cans and stuck the flowers into the foam so that they would stand straight up. I loved the idea of using one type of flower and color in each paint can. For the utensil packets, I wrapped the napkin around the fork and knife and added a paper band that said “dig in!” to hold it all together.

Kids Table

The kids table was a huge hit! Floating above the table was a cluster of bright colored polka dot balloons. The table was covered in a fuchsia plastic table cloth for easy clean up. Each kid got an individual paint packet to create their own masterpiece. The packet included a blank canvas, apron, painter’s palette, and paint brushes. I wanted to make sure the birthday girl felt special, so I added a little banner to the back of her chair that read “I am 3”.

Drink Table

For the Drink table we kept it really simple. We had raspberry lemonade and citrus infused water filled in dispensers and placed on white footed platters. This created a beautiful presentation. I purchased a variety of striped paper straws that matched the colors of the party and added a “nicole is three” tag for a special touch.

Painters Easel

Since the kids were going to have so much fun painting, I wanted to have a little activity for the adults as well. I had a blank canvas that I displayed on a painters easel with a little note asking guests to help create a masterpiece for Nicole. All the adults got to add their own little painting to the canvas and it ended up being a fun keepsake for the birthday girl.

Favors

The favors were super quick and easy! I purchased mini clear paint can containers to go along with the theme and filled them with gumballs. I added a little sticker to them that said “thanks for painting with me”.

Dessert Table

The dessert table was my favorite part! For the backdrop, I hung paint cans at varying heights that spelled out the birthday girl’s name. I cut paper to create zig zag streamers and attached them to the bottom of the paint cans to give the effect that paint was spilling out of the cans. The desserts included paint brush pretzels, paint brush rice krispy treats, and cupcakes displayed on painter’s palettes. We ordered a simple cake but dressed it up with a mini banner that I made that said “three”. The inside of the cake however had a fun surprise. Each layer had a different color to match the theme of the party.
