Event Design: Hot Air Balloon Themed First Birthday & Baptism | St. Andrew Armenian Church, Cupertino

I'm so excited to announce that On To Baby has featured Leah's first birthday & Baptism on their blog! On To Baby features all things baby such as lovely baby showers, inspiring nursery designs, unforgettable kids birthday parties, and more. See the blog post here. On to the details...

Up, up, and away! This hot air balloon themed first birthday was filled with all things pink and glitter. Bella hired me to help design her daughter’s first birthday party and baptism. She wanted a theme that was unique, chic, and playful. The hot air balloon theme seemed perfect for this occasion. The event took place in the St. Andrew Armenian Church hall. We brought rentals and lighting to warm up the place and make it feel more elegant. I don't think the church hall had ever looked so good! Bella, thank you for hiring me to do the event design for your daughter's party. I had an amazing time making all the details and seeing it all come together. Leah is so precious and I wish your family many more blessings.

Place Card Table
As guest arrived they were greeted by an “Up, up, and away!” sign and hot air balloons floating up above the place card table. I wanted the guests to feel like they were about to go on a hot air balloon ride. I found this amazing gold sequins linen that was perfect in setting the tone for the rest of the décor.

Dining Tables
The dining tables were covered with a soft pink linen and paired with gold chivari chairs to make it feel extra elegant. I hand made the napkin rings with pink tulle to look like a tutu around the napkin. For the centerpieces, I hand glittered craft boxes and added a pink tutu around it. I filled the box with white hydrangeas and pink garden roses and had a floating balloon up top to resemble a hot air balloon.

Kid’s Station
I created a kids station where they could pick up a goodie box and lemonade.  The goodie boxes were gold glitter and pink with a balloon attached. They were filled with little toys and games for the kids to stay entertained. I also made fun sippy cups for the kids to use to enjoy their lemonade.

Photo Booth
I made a life sized hot air balloon for the kids to take photos in. I bought a laundry basket, spray painted it gold, and attached a pink and gold tassel banner to the front. I created a cluster of pink balloons up above. It made for some adorable photos.

Birthday Girl High Chair & Party Hat

I wanted to make the birthday girl’s high chair extra special so that she stood out amongst all the kids. I created a pink tutu around the chair and hung a banner that said “ONE”. I also made her a matching first birthday hat out of the glitter paper and pink tulle, which she looked absolutely adorable in.

Dessert Table

The dessert table was the highlight of the party. The pink tulle backdrop and the gold sequins linen was the perfect combination. I hung hot air balloons that spelled out the birthday girls name floating above the table. All the desserts incorporated the hot air balloon theme. Guests were wowed by all the details of the dessert table.
